A Report To The Community

Celebrating Our Past, Preparing For Our Future

On May 18, the MMAM community joined together for a lively gathering at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. Our goal for the evening was simple -  to honor the legacies of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, reflect on the museum’s impact, and take this moment to share our vision for the future.

37,000 museums from over 157 countries used this moment, International Museum Day, to celebrate the power of museums and their contributions to the communities we serve. MMAM celebrated this day by sharing our efforts to recover and reimagine.

This event was presented by the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, a nonprofit mission-driven art museum. MMAM gratefully acknowledges sustaining support from our Board of Directors; the Winona Foundation, the Winona Community Foundation, Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation, and other generous contributions from foundations, corporations, individuals, members and volunteers.

Founded in 2014 by a dedicated community invested in celebrating its maritime heritage, the Minnesota Museum of Marine Art has evolved into an ambitious nonprofit public art museum that engages visitors in meaningful visual art experiences through education and exhibitions that explore the ongoing and historic human relationship with water.
