Join us for a free* innovative, virtual Ride the Wave series with Sarah Johnson. This interactive program typically meets in person, and offers an opportunity to play with art materials, explore the connections with each other and between creativity and health, and explore what it means to "ride the wave." The thought-provoking experiential activities are designed to encourage connections with ourselves and other humans.

In order to offer this program safely for all, we are switching to a two-part online format. On Saturday, March 13 from 10:00-11:30AM, participants will meet virtually with Sarah Johnson via Zoom, for part one, which includes introductions and getting to know one another, a mindful practice, and instructions for the art project

Inspiration materials from the exhibition Frederick D. Somers: Miracle of Waters and a small package of art supplies will be mailed to participants ahead of the March 13 online program. Participants will be challenged to create a piece of art with supplies provided and materials they have on hand already (more direction will come during the virtual workshop). Participants will have one week to play with the art materials, and will reconvene on Saturday, March 20, from 10:00-11:30AM, for part two, where participants will share their work and participate in a concluding mindful practice.

Sarah Johnson is a Winonan and human who uses art as a means for healing in many aspects of her life, both professionally and personally. Sarah is trained as a therapist and as an artist who works to make connections with and empower others.

Space is limited. Participants must be able to commit to both dates (March 13 & 20). Registration required by Friday, March 4.

*This event is free thanks to the generous support of Ernest and Sally Micek in memory of W.B. "Bill" Gautch.
