Sarah Johnson is a Winonan and human who uses art as a means for healing in many aspects of her life, both professionally and personally. Sarah is trained as a therapist and as an artist who works to make connections with and empower others, serving as the Creative Laureate for the City of Winona. Join us for an interactive program with Sarah in which we will play with art materials, explore the connections between creativity and health, and what it means to "ride the wave." The thought-provoking experiential activities are designed to encourage connections with ourselves and other humans. Each workshop is unique; past themes have focused on acceptance, self compassion, and willingness, among others. We'll be focusing on textures and layers as a metaphor in this session.
This program free* and will be hosted live and in-person in the museum’s Oberton Education Room. Visitors fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks while in the museum, but are welcome to do so - either way is okay. Visitors not yet fully vaccinated are required to wear masks that properly cover their nose and mouth.
*This event is free thanks to the generous support of Ernest and Sally Micek in memory of W.B. "Bill" Gautch.
