A collaborative music performance featuring the work of Ben Weaver and Strong Buffalo, presented by the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Art of the Rural, and Prairie Island Campground.
“Each day we walk around in the presence of two systems. The first system I call the ‘original system.’ It is made up of plants, animals, water, air, fire, dirt etc... The second system I call the ‘secondary system.’ It is a system that has been imposed on top of this ‘original system’ and is made up of concrete, roads, banks, jobs, internet, houses, power lines etc…
The words and songs that come through me are meant to offer witness to the original system, this network of life connecting the moss, trees, water, birds, dirt and roots back to each one of us.”

This special Wilder Buffalo Float is born from the urge to create concerts and conversations out of doors, connecting to place, that bring others into witness of this original system. Our collective hopes and dreams are to connect in a space and moment in time to share and experience the joy that resides in these places, under our feet and in the air.
As with all ecosystems, all are welcome to join. Come as you are. Stay for however long you feel. Bring what, and who with you that feel appropriate. This performance and experience are free, with donations to the artists welcome.
Weather pending, you are welcome to join a 4:30pm float (BYO Boats), starting at Prairie Island Campground Landing, floating downriver (est. 60 mins) at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum for a 6pm concert. Float leaders will guide the way. Your job is to enjoy the float, take in all around you and connect with new and old friends alike.
