Spring Service Learning
This Earth Day, make an impact by spending the morning at MMAM tidying up our shoreline and getting our grounds ready for spring.
With the season’s shifting, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s Seventh Gallery is beginning to show. Like all good ‘art,’ the sights, smells and all the glory of the museums’ 7-acre site requires some diligent care and attention. In honor of Earth Day, join us on Friday, April 22 from 9:30am-12:15pm, to make an impact and invest in our planet by spending the morning outside tidying up our shoreline and getting our gardens in order.
We will kick the morning off with a garden and grounds tour, learning about the varied native species, their cycles and their benefits, that have defined the MMAM’s riverside property since it first opened in 2006. Participants will then break into small work parties only to be rewarded with an open-fire lunch provided by staff on the museum’s riverwalk (indoors if inclement weather).
This program is free, but registration is required. Show up with your work boots on and be prepared to be outdoors in all weather conditions. This event takes place rain or shine. And celebrate with us, as we amplify the way the Minnesota Marine Art Museum invests in our planet. Make an impact. Join us!
