Fastenal Scavenger Hunt Adventure at MMAM

At Minnesota Marine Art Museum, we love opening our doors to the community, and this week we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of employees from Fastenal for a scavenger hunt adventure at MMAM.

There’s something special about seeing people explore the galleries together. A museum visit has a way of slowing folks down just enough to notice details, ask questions, laugh at surprising discoveries, and maybe even see their hometown a little differently afterward. Events like this remind us that museums are not quiet boxes you walk through once. They are living community spaces.

Here in Winona, we are fortunate to have businesses that believe culture matters. The Minnesota Marine Art Museum exists because this community continues to support the idea that art, education, the river, and gathering spaces all contribute to the livability of a town. They help make Winona not just a place people work, but a place people want to build lives in.

And in many ways, Fastenal and the museum are connected at the roots.

Both organizations trace back to the vision of Bob Kierlin. Fastenal may be the older sibling at 59 years old, while the museum is the younger one at just 20, but we like to think of ourselves as part of the same family tree. Different paths, same hometown spirit. One grew from bolts and blue bins. The other grew from watercolor and riverscapes. But both were built from the belief that Winona deserved something meaningful that could last.

That connection is something we never take for granted.

A special thank you to Dani Wilson for helping coordinate the visit and bringing such a great group through the museum. We were thrilled to host you all, and we hope this is just the beginning. We look forward to welcoming even more Fastenal employees through our galleries soon.

After all, family should visit family once in a while.
