Sabina Bosshard and George Parke invite you to their home for a special late afternoon and early evening to celebrate and support the Minnesota Marine Art Museum and its mission - creating meaningful art experiences inspired by water.

Enjoy an elegant seasonal poolside gathering with friends and family, satiating small plates created by a collaboration between Featherstone Farms and The Chef’s Table, one of a kind cocktails by La Crosse Distilling Co., non-spirited drinks by Coca-Cola of Winona, and music by At Home with Haydn and the Ray Dretske Quartet featuring vocalist Cat Breet.

Special guest, New-York Historical Society Art Conservator, Kenneth Bé, will speak to the value of museum’s like the Minnesota Marine Art Museum sharing and caring for important collections and historically significant works of art.

Floating floral arrangements, smashing photo opps throughout, and a memorable poolside art auction featuring new and original art by MMAM exhibiting artists.  The attire is garden party cocktail.

Our goals are simple. Raise support for the Museum’s three anchors of its 2023 Annual Fund:

  1. Artistic Excellence.  Building on the success of collaborations with world-class museums like the New York Historical Society, MMAM aspires to bring renowned artworks and scholarship by the most celebrated and ambitious artists and curators of our time to the Upper Mississippi River region.  All the while growing our own collection that not only begins to demonstrate what marine art is, but pushes the boundaries of what it can be.   Your contribution will allow the Museum to launch a fledgling art acquisition fund this coming year.

  2. Community Access. We aspire to make our mission-based work more accessible to more people, continuing to identify and remove barriers to participation.  Join us in supporting our efforts this coming year to launch (a) Art For Every Child, a new campaign that provides every fifth grader and their families living a complimentary one-year household membership and (b) Rising Generation, a new campaign that provides every first-year higher education student a complimentary one-year individual membership.

  3. Clean Water and Climate Stewardship.  Your support allows the Museum to use most energy efficient equipment available on the market (from those air exchangers keeping our artwork protected to the led lights we use to create those magical gallery moments) leverage carbon free energy sources, and care for our six-acre riverside gardens that are slowing erosion and providing habitat for pollinators and essential riparian critters.  With your support, the Museum is releasing 66,000 fewer pounds of greenhouse gasses each year, aiming to keep our waters cooler, cleaner and more habitable for generations to come.

About the Collaborators

Kenneth Bé

Kenneth Bé is the museum conservator for the New-York Historical Society. Previously he was a paintings conservator at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Ford Conservation Center in Omaha, a regional art conservation facility. He did his graduate studies at the Conservation Center of the New York University Institute of Fine Arts.

At Home With Haydn

Franz Joseph Haydn, often nicknamed the "father of the string quartet", was instrumental in popularizing chamber music in the 1700s and wrote over 60 string quartets throughout his career. During the 1700s and for many years after, chamber music was considered "social music" and was often played in intimate settings such as in people’s homes. Today, chamber music is often found in more formal concert hall settings which allows for bigger audiences. However, there is something magical that occurs when audience members and musicians are mere feet apart. They can laugh together, move together, and the music becomes more alive.

At Home With Haydn or AHWH is dedicated to bringing people together for chamber music throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. The organization seeks to honor the original setting chamber music was composed for putting on a number of concerts each year and despite the name, the AHWH musicians enjoy performing works composed by an array of composers. Founded by Adam Dorn, AHWH began as a concert series at the beginning of 2019 and was originally overseen by Caroga Arts Collective, an arts organization based in the beautiful setting of upstate New York. Kyle Price, an At Home With Haydn musician (cello), is Executive and Artistic Director of the Caroga Arts Collective and partnered up with Adam to help the concert series hit the ground running. In 2021, At Home With Haydn took the next step forward and became a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.

The experience of live chamber music in intimate settings is an experience like no other and AHWH seeks to bring that experience to people throughout the Twin Cities community. With the community in mind, At Home With Haydn is committed to reaching people who otherwise may not have access to live chamber music such as residents in senior living facilities, patients in hospitals, and children in schools, in addition to presenting chamber music concerts in home settings. AHWH is very excited about what is to come and looks forward to continuing to share chamber music with the Twin Cities community.
