Wild Wales Tour, Newfoundland & Labrador
11-Day Adventure: July 16 - 26, 2026
Presented by Wild Wales Tours
in partnership with the Minnesota Marine Art Museum
Set out on an unforgettable eleven-day journey with Wild Wales Tours aboard a guided luxury bus for twelve guests, traveling up the western shore of Newfoundland and into eastern Labrador. This spectacular experience combines world-class scenery, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and the welcoming spirit of Canada’s easternmost province along the Atlantic Ocean.
Over the course of this custom adventure, you’ll wind along dramatic coastlines lined with towering cliffs and deep fjords, explore hidden coves and sea caves, and take in views of sculpted sea stacks and windswept headlands. Keep your eyes peeled for humpback, fin, orca, and minke whales breaching along the way, dolphins dancing in the waves, and seabirds filling the skies—most famously the Atlantic puffin, which nests here by the thousands.
You will encounter drifting icebergs and enjoy summer theatre performances. Between these natural wonders, you’ll step ashore in charming fishing villages, visit historic lighthouse outposts, and hear stories that unite the culture and history of this remarkable maritime region. Restaurants, pubs, and local hot spots are all pre-vetted for dietary restrictions and offer opportunities to rub shoulders with locals while enjoying stews, fresh fish, and more.
Expert guides will tailor the journey to your interests, including visits to the Viking UNESCO World Heritage site on the Strait of Belle Isle and the UNESCO-listed Red Bay Whaling Museum in Labrador. Red Bay is a historic whaling and fishing village settled by Basque whalers in the early 1500s.
A two-day stay at the Battle Harbor Historic Site—once the economic and social center of southeastern Labrador—offers another highlight. During the 19th century, it was known as the “Capital of Labrador” for its thriving saltfish trade. Today, Battle Harbor is a preserved 19th-century fishing village, where accommodations are in restored fishing homes and guided tours are led by locals.
Taff Roberts, your guide and owner of Wild Wales Tours, is passionate about Newfoundland and Labrador. He has visited Newfoundland for the past twenty years and maintains a home on its shores. Along the way, you’ll be joined by additional guides, storytellers, and musicians who will share the history and rich culture of these rugged coasts.
This is truly an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime exploration of a place where sea, sky, and story converge. Come join us!
