Paintings and Poetry
Poetry used in conjunction with paintings can create a powerful experience. Listening to, or reading, a poem paired with a painting provides an opportunity to focus on a that artwork, and allows you to see that work from different perspectives and think about it in new ways. Here you will find the opportunity to look a works from MMAM’s collections through the filter of poems and the word of William Shakespeare.
quack! A springtime duck ditty for kids
We miss seeing our youngest visitors roam the galleries during the coronavirus pandemic, and talking with them about all that they notice in the artworks. This video highlights a beautiful painting by George Luks which features swan boats on a pond, and it got us thinking about the ducks we often see on ponds. Enjoy!
