Anna Metcalfe: Upstream

January 11 - May 5, 2019

Upstream features works by artist Anna Metcalfe that focus on her decade-long investigation of the waters of the Upper Midwest. With a background in clay, Metcalfe is interested in how social engagement is endemic to craft and how it can be a conduit for social and environmental change. Her work investigates relationship to landscape and water through community storytelling and personal narrative. Works will include ceramic installation and community-engaged projects that reflect the artist’s abiding connection with water.
