The Art of the Ship Model

The MMAM is home to a substantial collection of ship models, plans, and half-hull models that reveal artistic fascination with the form and function of nautical vessels. The Art of the ShipModel explores the beauty of naval architecture as expressed by various artists and craftspeople, and how design relates to various ships’ functions.  Included in the exhibition are traditionally rigged wooden merchant and naval ships, steam propelled vessels, a large model of Titanic as well as ship’s lines drawings and plans.
