Minnesota Marine Art Museum Awarded $73,000 Terra Foundation Grant

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum has been awarded a $72,544 Collections Grant from the Terra Foundation for American Art as part of its Spring 2026 grant cycle. The award supports Fluid: A Curatorial Cohort Reimagining the MMAM Permanent Collection, a multi-year initiative that will help shape a major reinterpretation of the museum's collection and guide future collecting strategies.

Through the project, MMAM will convene a cohort of nationally recognized curators, scholars, and cultural leaders to explore new perspectives on American art, water, and waterways. Their work will inform a major collection reinstallation planned for 2028 and help broaden the stories, artists, and voices represented throughout the museum.

MMAM is grateful to the Terra Foundation for American Art for its support and shared commitment to expanding and enriching conversations around American art.
