Art is for Everyone!
Join us on Saturday, August 13th from 10am-5pm. This season's theme is “Waterscapes” inspired by the MMAM exhibition, Impressions of Water: Prints by Clara Ueland 1997-2022. Admission is $1 (MMAM members and children 4 and under are always free)!
Seasonal Saturday Activities
Tours
All tours are 30 minutes and start in the Atrium. Assistive Listening Headsets will be used.
MMAM Highlights Tour: This tour will introduce you to select paintings in the American and European exhibitions [10:15am, 12:15pm, 2:15pm, 4:15pm]
“Moved by Water” Tour: This tour will explore the watery scenes represented in select artworks on view at MMAM. [11:15am, 1:15pm, 3:15pm]
Super Awesome Storytime
Join our resident storytelling artist, Laura Armstrong, for a special storytime session. All ages welcome! [10:30am, 11:00am]
Project Fine
Project FINE will be onsite to offer interpretation in Spanish and Hmong. [10am- 1pm]
Music
Eric Heukeshoven, piano [11:00am- 12:00pm]
Jake Ilika and Joel Ward, guitars & vocals [3:00pm- 4:00pm]
MMAM Artists-in-Residence
Meet the MMAM Artists in Residence, Ian Haneswoth and Marlena Myles. Join us to reimagine a vision of what the MMAM gardens can be. [1pm- 3pm]

Community Partner, The Bell Museum
The Bell Museum is onsite at MMAM to distribute their free Science & Nature Activity kits! These kits have been carefully crafted and curated by Bell Museum educators to ignite curiosity and wonder by providing students and their families with enriching science and nature experiences to take part in at home during the summer! [All day, or until kits are gone]
Art Making
Paint a waterscape on an oversized bookmark inspired by Clara Ueland’s prints. For all ages and abilities. [All day]
Driftless Kettle Corn
Purchase kettle corn and bottles of water to enjoy on MMAM’s Riverwalk Patio. [11am- 3pm]
Free transportation
Free transportation to and from the Minnesota Marine Art Museum is available through Winona Area Transit Service’s Dial-A-Ride. Call 507-454-6666 to schedule your ride a few days before you plan to visit, and MMAM will pay your fare upon arrival and provide you with return fare.
