Mississippi Sippin Concert Series: Hannah Mayree

Live music by the Mississippi River. Enjoy live music in the MMAM Gardens this summer with the Mississippi Sippin Concert Series, and see how many different art forms can be inspired by water. Thursday, August 15 features Hannah Mayree, a banjoist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist.

While you are here, find a curated selection of spirited and non-spirited beverages, food trucks outside along the Mississippi River, and then, venture into the galleries (open late until 8pm) to see how exhibiting artists are using water as inspiration for their work.  Bike-in.  Paddle-in. Row-in. Drive-in.  

ADMISSION

This outdoor concerts is free and open to all ages (donations appreciated). The MMAM galleries will be open until 8pm, and while admission is required to enter the galleries, all students receive free entry every Thursday at MMAM. 

FOOD & DRINK

Featuring spirited and spirit-free beverages and food truck favorites from regional chefs, all served riverside at the museum. 

INCLEMENT WEATHER ALTERNATIVE

In the event of rain or inclement weather, Mississippi Sippin will be moved inside the atrium of MMAM. There will not be cancellations due to weather.

ABOUT Hannah Mayree

Hannah Mayree (she/her/they/them) is a  creative facilitator and musician whose work and art lends itself as a tool for redesigning and reconnecting to our roots as humans on this planet. A banjoist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist, Hannah shares original and traditional banjo compositions as well as harmonies through acoustic live vocal looping and reminds us of the power found in our relationship to the earth, music and community.

They founded and creatively direct the Black Banjo Reclamation Project which is currently creating musical, cultural and land-based opportunities for Black, Afro-Diasporic communities around the world to work with the banjo as a tool for reclaiming ancestral wisdom & creating Afro-futures.
