Exploring the Historical Evolution of Oil Painting Techniques with Kajahl

Saturday, July 13, 2024   |   11:30am - 12:30pm   |    Tickets: $5

MMAM Oberton Education Room

Kajahl: Ultra Mare opens to the public at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum on Saturday, July 13. The same day, join the exhibiting artist Kajahl, as he examines how oil painting techniques have adapted and evolved throughout history. Kajahl will touch on how these techniques have influenced his own work and style. Kajahl: Ultra Mare is on view at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum July 13, 2024 - January 5, 2025.

Kajahl’s work is inspired by the ancient world. He brings fictional characters to life in an imagined scene, through the medium and tradition of oil painting. In a sense, his work is based on a true story that diverges into fantasy, placing Kajahl as court painter to a mythical civilization.

Advance ticketing is recommended, and admission to the galleries can be purchased separately. Admission to the galleries is always free for MMAM members! Not a member yet? Join today. This program is part of the FRESH Water New Look Weekend at MMAM, July 12-14, 2024.
