Are you Interested in becoming a volunteer Docent at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum? We would love for you to join us! 

Docents are specially trained volunteers who facilitate tour experiences for visiting groups. Docents lead tour groups of all ages and backgrounds. They use inquiry, discussion and interactive strategies to help people make personal connections with the art. Those who wish to become a MMAM docent are required to apply and complete a 10-week training course. This course is offered at MMAM every other winter, and this year will be held February - March 2026.

Those who are interested in learning more are invited to join MMAM staff for an informal question and answer session on October 29 at 10am, in the Museum’s Oberton Education Room to learn about what it takes to become a Docent. There will be free coffee and Bloedow’s doughnuts for all attendees.
