Get ready for a night of cinematic chaos and live comedy at MMAM. Comedians Ben Marcotte and Tim Flanagan take on a delightfully terrible “B” movie with a watery twist, delivering live riffs, commentary, and laugh-out-loud reactions inspired by the cult classic spirit of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Set in MMAM’s atrium, this relaxed evening invites guests to grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy an hour of gloriously bad cinema paired with sharp comedic banter. Don’t expect a full screening—our hosts may fast-forward through the slow parts with comedic summaries and hilarious recaps to make sure you get all the best (and worst) moments.

With PG-13 humor, this event is perfect for movie lovers, comedy fans, and anyone who enjoys laughing at films that probably should never have been made.

About the comedians

Ben Marcotte

Ben Marcotte is originally from rural Minnesota but moved to Minneapolis in 2015 to further pursue standup comedy. Since then, he’s performed all across the Upper Midwest to rave reviews.

Ben has performed at corporate events and clubs all over the Midwest including performances and festivals, including: the Minneapolis Comedy Festival. He has also competed in the Funniest Comedian in the Heartland contest in Lowell, AR, along with being a semi-finalist in the Funniest Person with a Day Job contest at the House of Comedy.

Tim Flanagan

Tim Flanagan is a Minnesota based comedian and writer. His comedy revolves around being a middle-aged father of 6 mostly-grown daughters and all that goes with it. He also likes to find humor in the mundane parts of life, and the many flaws of humanity. He performs in venues around the Upper Midwest. He is a regular contributor and writer for KFAN Radio in Minneapolis and regularly performs around the Upper Midwest with KFAN personalities as part of the “Flop Sweat & Tears Comedy Tour” where he is known by the moniker “Larry Mondello Guy”. He also is the co-producer of “The Big Bub’s Comedy Show” that brings nationally touring headlining comedians to southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
