Art is for everyone! Join the Minnesota Marine Art Museum for our Winter Seasonal Saturday event on February 14. With $1 admission for all, this is a fun and lively day to visit the museum for first-time visitors and experienced museum-goers alike. Inspired by Valentine’s Day, the theme of this Seasonal Saturday is For the Love of the Arts. Enjoy wandering the galleries on your own, or join a tour, listen to live music, enjoy a live artist demonstration, try your hand at art-making, and visit our community partner- Minnesota Public Radio. Bingo Overboard, everyone’s favorite search-and-find game, is always available - just don’t forget to pick up your prize!
February 14 Schedule of Events
*Quiet Art Room
Oberton Education Room [9:30-10am]
MMAM will open the art-making activity room at 9:30am to offer a quieter environment to minimize distractions and sensory stimulation. Kindly note, the galleries and other activities will not open until 10am.
ART-MAKING
Oberton Education Room [9:30am - 4pm]
Pull a Print Try your hand at monoprinting with a gel printing plate and an array of textured materials. For all ages and abilities.
Artist Demonstration: Weaving Demonstration with Lauren Oland
Atrium [12pm - 2pm]
Watch fiber artist Lauren Oland demonstrate free-form weaving on her mobile SAORI loom. Using remnant yarn, hand-spun art yarn, and yarn from regional farms to make one of a kind, Oland weaves colorful cloth in her own signature zero waste creative process.
MMAM Highlights Tour
Atrium [10:15am, 12:15pm, 2:15pm]
Explore, learn, discover, experience, appreciate. Join MMAM docents for an insider's tour of the galleries and a closer look at standout pieces on display. All tours are 30 minutes and utilize assistive listening devices.
Curator’s Tour
Atrium [11:15am & 3:15pm]
Explore, learn, discover, experience, appreciate. Join MMAM curators to learn the stories behind the exhibitions. Both tours are 30 minutes and utilize assistive listening devices.
Director’s Tour
Atrium [1:15pm]
Explore, learn, discover, experience, appreciate. Join the MMAM Executive Director to learn what’s happening, and what’s coming up at MMAM. This tour is 30 minutes and will utilize assistive listening devices.

Robert Gonzalez [10am -12pm]
Stop, look and learn. Take 30 seconds, or 30 minutes to dig into the paintings of Robert Gonzalez.
LIVE MUSIC
Gallery 4 [11am + 3pm]
Enjoy live music from Nomalala (Vocals-Guitar) from 11am - 12pm, and live music from Joel Zabel (Violin) from 3 - 4pm.
Advancing the Panorama
Manoogian Gallery [2:30pm - 2:40pm]
Witness the advancement of the longest painting in the United States as we advance another 40 feet of the 1275 foot long Grand Panorama of a Whaling Voyage ‘Round the World at 2pm.
BINGO OVERBOARD
Atrium [10am - 4pm]
Play everyone’s favorite search-and-find gallery game and win a prize.

Meet and Greet! Learn how River Arts Alliance supports and celebrates art and artists throughout the region.
Free transportation
Free transportation to and from the Minnesota Marine Art Museum is available through Winona Area Transit Service’s Dial-A-Ride. Call 507-454-6666 to schedule your ride a few days before you plan to visit, and MMAM will pay your fare upon arrival and provide you with return fare.
