Ekow Nimako is a Ghanaian-Canadian artist renowned for creating sculptures using LEGO bricks. His work explores themes of African culture, history, and futurism, reimagining the past while envisioning new possibilities for the future. This series draws inspiration from the historic sea voyage of Mansa Abu Bakr II, the ninth ruler of the medieval Mali Empire. Through his fluid and innovative building techniques, Nimako transforms the geometric medium into striking, organic forms and fantastical silhouettes.
