Jubilantly eclectic paper mache sculptural works march through the gallery in an installation by Lix Sexton. Concurrently, ceramicist Courtney Mattison opens a solo exhibition that reminds us of the fragile beauty of living coral reefs.

[7:20p] Artist, visual arranger, and all around conversationalist, Andy DuCett hosts a lively staged conversation with mask maker and featured exhibiting “artist [who has] reinvented the mask” (Guardian) Liz Sexton, asking could papier-mache be the perfect medium of our time? DuCett has a deep dive conversation with artist and ocean advocate Courtney Mattison about her solo-exhibition, Undercurrent and the work she does to inspire policy makers and the public to conserve our changing seas. The staged social closes with a conversation with biologist and naturalist, Sara Holger.
Live Gallery Performance by woolen lover
[8p] woolen lover (they/them) is a local queer sound and movement artist. In their live music performances they layer vocals, synthesizer, found sounds, and electronic sounds - using the loop pedal to unfold each song in the moment.
Liz Sexton’s creations prance through the gallery alongside organic found sounds with electronic sensibilities. woolen lover layers words, sound, movement and meaning.
Fauna Fluxus by Flyway Dance
Eclectic masked movement throughout the night by Erin Drummond and Flyway Dance brings Liz Sexton’s jubilantly sculptural works to life in the galleries.
Dancehall Shakedown by DJ Rhupshaker
[9p] Best known for his deep funk cuts, resident artist at No Name Bar (Winona, MN), DJ Rhumpshaker, aka Dr. Bob, closes the night down as the lights go down with a dance party to die for.

This event is part of the May 5-7 opening weekend for the two new exhibitions under the suite of Fauna.
