Craft + Coffee: Spooky Seasonal Gourd Earring Workshop
Saturday, October 31 | 10a - 12p | Ages 14+
Tuition: $55 [MMAM member rate: $45)
About the workshop:
Join local gourd artist, Rachel Pauli, for a Halloween morning of ridiculous gourd fun. We'll be making lightweight, seasonal, maybe even spooky, earrings out Tennessee spinner gourds homegrown right here in Winona. Learn about gourd basics and begin to experience the gourd art world by making your own gourd earrings (or keychain if you aren't pierced) to take home that day. In this workshop we will be trying different painting techniques, drilling our gourds and adding our own jewelry fixtures. No experience is required for this workshop.
One coffee from MMAM’s Waterbar Cafe + Provisions is included in the workshop tuition.
About the artist:
Rachel Pauli is a jewelry artist based in rural Southeast Minnesota, where she creates distinctive, lightweight pieces from homegrown gourds. Pauli draws inspiration from the natural forms growing in her backyard garden. Once dried, the gourds reveal richly mottled textures and absorb color beautifully, allowing her to craft jewelry that is both visually striking and organically unique.
Known especially for her larger, featherlight earrings, Pauli’s work balances bold design with everyday wearability. Rooted in a commitment to sustainability, each piece is handmade from the ground up, reflecting her dedication to thoughtful materials and process. Through her work, Pauli invites others to share in her appreciation for the beauty and potential of natural forms transformed by hand.
